We have less than a week to go before Apple reveals all about the iPhone 6s but KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has given us a few new morsels of information about the device to hold us over. Per 9to5Mac, Kuo released a research note that confirmed some key specifications of Apple’s upcoming iPhone, including its camera and its storage options.

First, the bad news: Yes, we’re really stuck with a 16GB iPhone 6s as the entry-level model. Apple’s margins on these devices are just too good for the company to pass up, although it could move things up to 32GB of storage just as a “thank you” to its loyal user base… but who are we kidding?
On a happier note, Kuo confirms the 6s will feature a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and also says Apple has significantly upgraded the front-facing camera that will now have a resolution of 5 megapixels. However, he says the new camera “may not be equipped with sapphire cover lens, as it still has quality issues on the drop test.”
Finally, Kuo expresses some skepticism that the iPhone 6s’s Force Touch technology will be a major factor in pushing users to upgrade.
“If Force Touch fails to create attractive selling points, together with slowing consumption in China and mobile operators cutting subsidies for high-end smartphones, we expect shipments of new iPhone in 2015 to be flattish from or slightly lower than the combined 73mn units sold of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last year,” he writes.
