Those of us who are really into technology can tell the difference between iOS and Android instantly. There are plenty of people out there, however, who don’t pay all that much attention to these things and who buy iPhones on the basis of Apple’s brand power. There’s nothing wrong with this, of course, since Apple has a strong brand for a good reason. All the same, we couldn’t help but be amused when the pranksters who run the YouTube account Dit Is Normaal loaded Android onto an iPhone clone and successfully convinced Apple fans that it was a real iPhone running on iOS 9.

Overall, the Apple fans questioned in the video said they really liked the look of “iOS 9” (actually Android), although some did notice that it looks “completely different” from past versions of iOS. When asked why they think that this new software is better than Android, many iPhone fans gave rather vague answers about Apple just being “chill” and iOS being “smoother and prettier.”
The best person they interviewed, however, was a self-proclaimed “Samsung fanboy” who apparently couldn’t recognize Android loaded onto an iPhone clone. Even better, the Samsung fanboy admitted he thought “iOS 9” looked better than Android, although he still insisted that he would stick with his favorite brand regardless.
The team at Dit Is Normaal didn’t even use a modified version of Android to try to trick people, either. As you can see in the screencap at the top of the page, this is obviously Android complete with a Google search bar at the top of the display, which is something Apple would never in a million years allow to appear on the home screen of an iPhone.
