Comic book fans are anxiously waiting for the Suicide Squad movie to hit cinemas next year, as it will be the first DC movie to feature a team of super villains as its main characters. After the first teaser images and trailer were published online, a series of images now shows us how the Suicide Squad cast looks compared to their comic book counterparts.

To show off the differences and similarities between the comic book versions of these bad guys, Business Insider put together a list of side-by-side pictures for some of the characters.

Will Smith plays Deadshot aka Floyd Lawton, a guy who’s deadly with guns.
Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, is also one of the stars of the team. The former psychiatrist of the Joker, Quinn eventually becomes his girlfriend and henchwoman.
Killer Croc interpreted by Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, has a skin condition that gives him reptilian features that will work great with his killer instincts.
Jay Hernandez is El Diablo, who’s probably Chato Santana, an ex-criminal who might have some dangerous pyrokinetic abilities.
Finally, we can’t not mention the Joker, who will not kill you, but he’s just going to hurt you really, really bad. Jared Leto plays the Joker — check out the scary image below showing Leto in costume, one of the first revelations coming from the Suicide Squad production team. A comparison picture for Leto’s Joker and the comic-book villain has not been posted on the news site.
