Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film Minority Report now has a TV series that further expands on the story in the original movie. The upcoming new show is also called Minority Report, and will air this fall on Fox. While many details about the plot have not been made available yet, Fox has released its first trailer for its upcoming series, and it offers some clues about what’s going to happen on the show.

The action in the TV series takes place at some point in time after the events of the movie, the trailer reveals. The police precrime division that was using gifted people who could see the future has been dismantled, but one of the precogs who was included in the program still gets glimpses of future crimes before they happen.
The precog partners up with a police officer to secretly solve these crimes, as he can’t get a clear view of the future now that precrime doesn’t exist anymore. Minority Report appears to be somewhat similar to Person of Interest, a TV show in which a machine can predict crimes before they happen, with a special team having been formed to prevent each crime.
Just like in the Minority Report movie, you can expect some amazing special effects when it comes to tech and gadgets used in the series — one more reason to keep an eye out for Minority Report when it premieres this fall.
Meanwhile, this first Minority Report trailer follows below.
