It’s been a relatively slow start for the Xbox One in 2015, with hardly any exclusives to speak of save for Screamride and Ori and the Blind Forest. That’s not to say that the PS4 has been outpacing Microsoft’s console by much, but if the Xbox One is going to stand a chance of taking the lead this year, it’s going to need to have a big E3.
According to Phil Spencer, that’s exactly what Microsoft has in store.

“We should have new exclusive IP at E3,” said Xbox head Phil Spencer in response to a fan’s tweet. “I’m trying to make this E3 more about 1st party than past E3s.”
If you were watching during Microsoft’s E3 press conference last year, you might remember that the company split its showcase into games that would be launching before the end of the year and games that would be launching at some point in the near future. Perhaps this year Microsoft will have enough of a first-party presence to split the show into exclusives and non-exclusives.
We know that Halo 5: Guardians is coming out before the end of the year (provided 343 Industries can have the game ready by then), but four months into 2015, there just aren’t enough exclusive Xbox One titles to get excited about. Hopefully Spencer and co. can fix that in June.
