It’s not surprising to see the iPhone 6 share this year’s MWC best smartphone of the year award, as the iPhone line has already proven itself over the years, and it’s a widely recognized brand. However, that’s not the only award Apple received recently, with Apple Insider reporting that the unreleased Apple Watch has won the prestigious iF Design Gold Award before even launching in stores.

Apple Watch was one of the two products in the telecommunications category that received the gold award, with the International Forum giving out 47 such gold award of excellence.
“The idea of combining classic materials such as leather and metal with state-of-the-art technology to create a very individual fashion accessory has resulted in a delightful product offering a holistic user experience,” the International Forum jury said. “The Apple Watch scores highly for each design detail and is an altogether extraordinary piece of design. For us, it is already an icon.”
The device will be introduced — again — during a special Apple media event scheduled for Monday, and should be available in a variety of markets in the coming weeks.
