Apple has accused Samsung of stealing its ideas but now it looks like Apple is stealing away Samsung employees. The Korea Times reports that “Apple is luring away Samsung Electronics’ experts in next-generation technology” with a particular focus on “technicians and engineers engaged in signal- and visual-processing management.” Apple has also apparently recently been poaching Samsung battery experts, which is particularly interesting since it comes at a time when Apple is reportedly working on building its own electric car and is putting a great emphasis on developing more efficient sources of energy.

“As the electric vehicle business is a new one, Apple needs patents and experts in battery technology,” one unnamed Samsung official told The Korea Times. “Top human resources firms have been approaching Samsung’s battery experts, individually, and I think such human exchange moves are a win-win for both.”
It’s also worth noting that Apple and Samsung have been on better terms lately now that the great smartphone patent wars have finally cooled down. Apple continues to use Samsung as a components supplier, as it’s found that it’s difficult to find any alternatives that have Samsung’s skill at mass producing key parts for smartphones and tablets.
