There’s no better way to wake up than with a smile and now one clever iPhone alarm app will put that to the ultimate test. Called Rise & Shine, the app uses your iPhone’s camera to determine whether or not you’re smiling when you go to shut off the alarm. If the app sees you have a grumpy scowl on your face, it will not turn off — instead, the only way to get it to shut up is to flash it a nice healthy smile.

The app also has another delightful little feature — you can have it take pictures of you the minute you show your smile every morning so you can then share it with your friends if you want to. Yes, that’s right: You could soon have a whole collection of pictures that show you when you’re at your most irritated while also trying to look cheerful.

The app says that its goal is to help you wake up with a smile every morning so you don’t feel as stressed out… but honestly, that just sounds like trolling to us.
