Some Mac fans who have ordered the recently announced 27-inch 5K Retina iMac all-in-one computer have already received notices via email that shipping has been delayed, 9to5Mac reports. Apple has informed buyers who have chosen this particular iMac model recently of the delays, and people placed their orders last month are also being notified that delivery estimates are being pushed back.

The 27-inch iMac announced during the October 16th iPad and Mac event is the only all-in-one Mac to pack such a high-resolution display, and it has received glowing reviews so far.
“We appreciate your recent purchase from the Apple Store. Following is an update regarding the status of your order,” Apple wrote in an email to a customer. Due to an “unexpected delay,” the company now anticipate shipping the 5K Retina iMac five to seven business days later than initially expected.
A buyer who initially received a November 14-19 estimate for a 5K Retina iMac ordered on October 31st now has to wait two extra weeks for the computer to arrive — the new shipping period is from November 28th to December 2nd.
Apple is currently quoting shipping estimates of two to three weeks on its online store for new 5K Retina iMac orders.
As it can be easily seen in the image below, Apple has not explained what’s causing the delays, other than mentioning it’s an “unexpected” issue.
