Often times when we see outspoken fans of one mobile platform share thoughts on another platform publicly, the result isn’t objective enough to even bother with. Sometimes, however, when the author manages to remain objective, they surprise us with interesting and useful insights. And this past weekend, a nice iPad Air 2 review popped up on Reddit from an Android enthusiast who used Apple’s latest and greatest iPad for two straight weeks.

Reddit user “Intuition17” on Saturday published a review of Apple’s iPad Air 2 after buying the new tablet and using it for two weeks. For some background, he noted that his main smartphone is an HTC One (M7) and he also recently owned a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. He then sold the Samsung slate and tried Google’s Nexus 7 instead, but found it to be too small for him.
So he bought an iPad Air 2.
On the plus side, he called the iPad Air 2’s performance during use “absolutely incredible,” noting that the tablet’s software is very “smooth and responsive.” He added that “scrolling anywhere is much smoother than on my previous tablets.”
Also of note, he wrote that the screen is “absolutely fantastic” and he says that most apps look nicer than their Android counterparts, which is a common sentiment among users of both platforms.
On the negative side, the user mentioned several interesting dislikes such as wasted screen real estate in the user interface, freezing and crashing problems, and several usability issues.
