We have good news and bad news, Samsung fans. The good news is that according to a new leaked photo from a reliable source, Samsung’s upcoming premium Galaxy F smartphone won’t be the shameless iPhone ripoff that a previous leak suggested it would be. The bad news, however, is that the new phone apparently looks just like every other smartphone Samsung has released in the past couple of years.
Gadget leaker @evleaks on Saturday published an image of what he claims to be Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy F smartphone. Considering his track record, it’s reasonable to presume that this photo has a much higher probability of being legitimate than the last photo we saw.
We can only see the front of the Galaxy F in this new blurry image, but the phone looks a great deal like Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4, suggesting the device may not sport the sleek redesign some had suggested. Instead, it may just end up being a Galaxy S5 copy with an aluminum battery cover and more impressive specs.
According to earlier reports, the Galaxy F will feature a 5.3-inch quad HD display, a Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, microSDXC support and Android KitKat. The phone is expected to launch in the coming months.
