Careful what you say about Samsung’s latest smartphone — the wrong thing could apparently cost you a fortune. Korean-language MediaToday is reporting that Samsung has filed a 300 million won ($285,000) lawsuit against South Korean newspaper Electronic Times over negative Galaxy S5 press that Samsung feels could pose a huge problem for its business.
Details are scare and Google’s machine translation is practically impossible to make sense of, but AppleInsider says the lawsuit pertains to negative comments made about the Galaxy S5’s camera. Samsung supposedly alleges that Electronic Times’ comments were inaccurate and damaging, but the paper says “the story fits the facts” and its comments were not “a false alarm.”
Samsung apparently feels the report could have a significant negative impact on sales, causing people to reconsider purchases because of the allegedly false claims made by Electronic Times.
