This one has been in the works for a while, but it’s nice to see an actual product here. iPod Touch hackers touchmods.net have figured out a way to make VoIP calls from the comfort of an iPod Touch. Judging from the video, their setup looks to be a clean and efficient method of making phone calls over your wireless network. The process requires the use of a dock connector-mounted microphone attachment, but it doesn’t look like any modifications were made to the actual iPod hardware. The video will have to suffice for now, though we’ve been promised a full software release on New Year’s day!
