Borderlands
fans who can’t get enough looting on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will soon have another platform to play Gearbox’s franchise on: iOS. It seems silly that a “hardcore” game such as Borderlands could even work with touchscreen controls, but a leaked ad in Borderlands 2’s digital strategy guide indicates a mobile version called Borderlands Legends is coming to Apple devices by the end of October.
The ad clearly states: “Borderlands Legends is the latest addition to the Borderland franchise, specifically designed for mobile and tablet. Control Mordecal, Lilith, Brick and Roland and take out the oncoming waves of enemies. Collect in-game cash by destroying enemies and purchase new weapons. Earn experience and level up your character, unlocking new skills and abilities! Each character has their own set of unique skills and abilities, use them wisely to survive!”
The ad also reveals Legends has “thousands of different items,” “36 unique powers and abilities,” and a “strategic cover system.” Where the game differs from the console games is the randomized missions.
