Nokia to conduct ‘ethics review’ over phone photo fakery flap

Things just aren’t going well for Nokia (NOK) these days. Bloomberg reports that the Finnish electronics manufacturer will be conducting a full self-evaluation to determine “why the company published misleading marketing materials.” The misleading materials in question were a promotional video and several still shots of pictures that many assumed had been taken with Nokia’s new Lumia 920 smartphone. But when it turned out that the video and pictures were not actually filmed with the new Lumia phone, Nokia had to issue a series of embarrassing apologies for misleading consumers. All in all, it hasn’t been a great start to Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 career.
