Verizon Wireless may be planning to launch two new high-end Android smartphones early next month, leaving current flagship models like the DROID RAZR and iPhone 4S to lead its lineup during the biggest shopping weekend of the year. Droid Life on Wednesday published what appears to be a screenshot of an internal Verizon Wireless memo. The document indicates that Verizon will launch the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Motorola DROID 4, which appears to resemble a DROID RAZR with a slide-out QWERTY keypad, on December 8th just ahead of the holidays. The release date is unconfirmed for the time being, though Verizon is expected to make an official announcement early next week. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will launch as a Verizon Wireless exclusive in the United States, but it is expected to become available from additional carriers in the near future. A purported screenshot of the internal memo follows below.
