Ahead of CES 2017, Faraday Future is pulling out all the stops in an effort to generate intrigue for a car that we truthfully don’t know much about. Amid reports that Faraday Future has plans to release a luxury electric SUV, the company last week released a teaser video which suggests that its mysterious SUV can beat Tesla’s Model X P100D in a drag race.

Well, the company is back at it again, this time with a new video that’s even more jaw-dropping. Faraday Future’s latest video pits one of its prototype cars against Tesla’s flagship car, the Model S P100D. The Model S P100D is an absolute speed demon and can go from 0-60 MPH in an astounding 2.5 seconds. If the video below is to be believed, Faraday’s engineers did an incredible job with their powertrain technology.

Incidentally, Tesla isn’t planning to sit idly by on the sidelines. The company last month said that it plans to boost the Model S’ 0-60 time to just 2.4 seconds via an impending software update.

Broadly speaking, it’s hard to deny that Faraday Future has developed some amazing technology, but the larger question is whether or not the company will stay afloat and if the teaser videos we’ve seen will amount to nothing more than vaporware. Incidentally, it’s now being reported that two top Faraday Future executives recently left the company.
