When we reviewed Motorola’s second-generation Moto X back in September, we called it the best Android phone in the world. Of course, a lot has changed since then. Bigger phones have been released. Faster phones have been released. More powerful phones have been released. In fact, Motorola itself launched a smartphone last week that fits all three of those criteria. What hasn’t been released, however, is a better smartphone. The Moto X offers a size, shape, display, interface, price and user experience that are ideal for the widest range of smartphone users looking for a high-end phone. And soon, it will also offer Android 5.0.

Motorola promised a speedy update to Lollipop for its latest phones and now, a new leak reveals Google’s new Android 5.0 Lollipop software running on the second-generation Moto X.

How close is Motorola to releasing its Android 5.0 update for the new Moto X? From the looks of things, pretty close.

Android fan blog Phandroid has managed to obtain screenshots from an unnamed source that show Lollipop running on a 2014 Moto X. Motorola’s version of Android is pretty close to stock so we shouldn’t expect any radical changes, but we can already catch some new elements such as the tweaked camera interface and drop-down toggles.

A few of the leaked images follow below and the rest can be seen by following the link down in our source section.
