The second Apple event of the fall is underway and the company has already unveiled the iPad Air 2. Next up is the second tablet of the day — the iPad mini 3. The latest iPad mini didn’t get much stage time, but Apple delved into a few specifications: the iPad mini 3 will feature a 7.9-inch Retina display, 5-megapixel iSight camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, FaceTime HD camera, 802.11n WiFi with MIMO and, of course, Touch ID.

When the iPad mini 3 launches, the iPad mini 2 (also known as the Retina iPad mini) will drop to $299. The original iPad mini will drop even further to $249.
