In addition to comparing the iPhone 6 dummy units obtained from Sonny Dickson to current Android flagship devices, including the HTC One (M8) and the Galaxy S5, 9to5Mac has also posted a second video in which it shows the differences between the mockups and the iPhone 5s when it comes to design, size and color options.
The publication has taken an extensive look at the Space Gray and Gold iPhone 6 dummy units, comparing them to the latest iPhone as well as the fifth-generation iPod touch, in order to highlight the huge design changes Apple is apparently working on for its next-gen iPhones.
The dummy units are consistent with other similar non-functional devices spotted in previous leaks, and feature a bigger display and a thinner profile than the iPhone 5s. Other design changes include the rounded corners and rounded edges, the relocation of the power button – placed on the right side instead of the top – and the iPod touch-like volume buttons.
The iPhone 6 dummy units actually look more like the iPod touch than the iPhone 5s, which is also consistent with what previous reports and leaks have suggested.
Finally, the iPhone 6 dummy units seem to fit perfectly iPhone 6 cases obtained from a different source, suggesting that many accessory makers may have access to similar mockups. Dickson has previously provided such an iPhone 6 case to a YouTube user for similar comparisons videos.
