Microsoft shows off Windows Phone 7.8 new start screen [video]

Even though it will be impossible to update any existing Windows Phone device to the upcoming version of the company’s mobile operating system, Microsoft will be offering select smartphones an update to Windows Phone 7.8 this fall. The update will bring a new start screen to the platform, allowing users to resize tiles and make them larger or smaller. Ben Rudolph, Microsoft’s evangelist, also mentions that there are new apps coming to the platform, including Audible, Words with Friends and Draw Something. Microsoft’s hands-on video follows below.
