The two things least likely to go together (it seems) are churches and violent video games. But that’s not stopping churches across the country from changing the meaning of “halo” most associated with religion and holding combo Halo 3 tournaments/Bible studies. And not just for the 17+ year olds that are “allowed” to buy the game. They’ve got setups for kids as young as 12 to partake in, giving them access to material that they might not be able to get on their own. The churches in question argue that their purpose is to be “in touch” with youth, and that by getting them through the door, it will expose them to other churchly goodness. Uh…or they could just come in for the free gaming and ignore the Jesus stuff.
