Toshiba has announced that they will be pre-installing Skype on a number of their popular portable computers. The first models to get the internet-telephony/chat/video conference treatment will be the Satellite X205, Tecra M8, Qosmio F45, and the brand new A215. What’s the common denominator here? Each of these models has a built-in webcam, allowing users to take advantage of Skype’s excellent video chat support. While we will be the first to admit that most Windows boxes come with way to much pre-loaded junk, Skype is a pretty useful piece of programming. Whatever you think of it, it’s certainly a good look for Skype. Lookout, AIM….the little guys are hot on your tail!
