Star Wars: The Force Awakens

director J.J. Abrams recently said in an interview that he and the marketing team behind Episode 7 tried not to reveal too many things in the movie’s trailers, while still making them interesting for fans of the saga. But a new TV commercial for the upcoming movie seems to reveal several things about the plot and characters in The Force Awakens. Proceed with caution if you don’t want any spoilers to ruin your Star Wars experience.

The new one-minute commercial (see a previous version at this link) shows a number of scenes from the movie, including a sequence that seems to reveal more details about Finn. Apparently, Finn is indeed a former stormtrooper who abandons his job in a TIE fighter, likely the same one seen on Jakku.

Furthermore, Finn is seen using a lightsaber to fight a stormtrooper, with the later having some kind of force-field staff capable of blocking the lightsaber. Han Solo also makes a brief appearance in the new ad, handing Rey what seems to be a blaster instead of a lightsaber, as was previously believed.

The Force Awakens premieres on December 18th, which means we’re probably going to see a few more TV ads in the near future in addition to the one below.
