Ahead of an official announcement due today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a new Android phone from Sony Ericsson has been revealed. Affectionately referred to at BGR HQ as the “Sony Ericsson Why-Isn’t-This-The-Xperia Play,” the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc features a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 4.2-inch 854 x 480-pixel touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel camera with flash and HD video capture, the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and a slim contoured body measuring 8.7mm at its thinnest point. We’re not sure the remarkably slender case and sexy design is enough to make up for last year’s specs, but there should be a few more treats in store from Sony Ericsson today so keep those fingers crossed. Hit the break for a video of the Arc in action.
