Samsung’s Galaxy S5 has already won widespread acclaim from both reviewers and display quality experts for its incredible 5.1-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and now the company is taking a long victory lap by giving us a detailed explanation of just what makes the Galaxy S5’s display so great.

Samsung covers several different features of the Galaxy S5’s killer display, including the new local contrast enhancement feature that automatically detects how bright it is outside and adjusts the display’s contrast accordingly. What’s more, the Galaxy S5 also knows when to dim itself down when it’s in a dark room so that its brightness won’t hurt your eyes when you’re looking at it. Other features that Samsung details include the improved color gamut and contrast ratio for the Galaxy S5 display, as well as its improved responsiveness that Samsung says will be just as fast even in cold temperatures of -10 degrees and -40 degrees Celsius.

BGR wrote earlier this month that “the gorgeous Super AMOLED display on this new handset is absolutely the best thing about the Galaxy S5” and in particular said that “the new panel on the S5 is far brighter than the one on last year’s model” with colors that “seem to pop a bit more” and contrast that “is somehow slightly more impressive as well.”
