A mystery device known as the Samsung (005930) Galaxy Stellar will reportedly launch on Verizon Wireless (VZ) for $99.99 with a new two-year agreement, according to Droid-Life. The interesting thing about the Android-powered Stellar, however, is that it will include Amazon Apps rather than Google’s (GOOG), possibly indicating a partnership between the online retail giant and the world’s top smartphone vendor. Little is known about the handset, although it will reportedly include 4G LTE connectivity and an “easy-to-use Starter mode [with] on-device help.” Amazon (AMZN) is scheduled to hold a press event on September 6th and is expected to announce at least one follow-up to its Kindle Fire tablet.
