Samsung aims for 10% of smartphone market by Q4

The Samsung Galaxy S is already creating quite a stir, and looks to be a wildly successful smartphone for the Korean phone maker. But is it enough to more than double its worldwide smartphone market share? Bloomberg Businessweek reports Samsung Senior VP of Mobile Communications Division, Lee Donjoo, as saying, “Samsung intends to raise its market share for smartphones to more than 10 percent in the fourth quarter from its current level of less than 5 percent.” A 10% global market share would make Sammy the fourth most popular smartphone maker in the world (as a point of comparison, HTC is currently ranked 4th with a 7% market share, Nokia is first with 40%).  The Galaxy S is going to be rolling out to countless countries and carriers all summer long, will it be enough to help propel Samsung to number four by Q4?
