Netflix on Wednesday confirmed it will expand into more international markets this year, revealing plans to launch its video streaming service in various European markets. The company did not reveal and precise release dates or subscription details for its major European launch, saying that its service will be available to more customers in the region in “late 2014,” for “a low monthly price.”

The European markets getting Netflix this year include Germany and France, which were mentioned in previous Netflix expansion rumors, but also other countries such as Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Interested customers in these countries can already go to Netflix.com to sign up for more information about the service’s launch.

Details about programming for these regions aren’t available either, and should be announced in the future. Netflix did say that “upon launch, broadband users in these countries can subscribe to Netflix and instantly watch a curated selection of Hollywood, local and global TV series and movies, including critically-acclaimed Netflix original series, whenever and wherever they like on TVs, tablets, phones, game consoles and computer.”

The popular streaming service is already available in several countries in the region, including U.K., Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands. The company says it has over 48 million customers in more than 40 countries.
