Motorola’s 2014 Moto X really impressed us but it really looks like the company also saved something special for its upcoming Droid Turbo that will launch exclusively on Verizon.
FROM EARLIER: This is Motorola’s next monster Droid smartphone
According to earlier leaks, the Droid Turbo will feature a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, a Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor that runs at 2.65GHz, a 19-megapixel camera, 3GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat For comparison, the new Moto X features a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, a 13-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat.
Up until now, though, we haven’t gotten any confirmation about the device’s battery life — even the leaked user’s guide from earlier on Thursday only said that the device featured a “high-capacity long lasting battery.” Droid Life has done some good detective work, however, and has concluded that the Droid Turbo will likely have a huge 3,900mAh battery.
“We pointed out through an FCC listing that the battery in the device fell under model number EQ40, which we assumed meant it would be large like last year’s DROID MAXX, a device that used a 3,500mAh battery under the model number EU40,” Droid Life writes. “Assuming this listing is correct and this is the EQ40 that will be featured in the DROID TURBO, you are looking at a device with a 3,900mAh battery. That, my friends, is huge.”
