The transition from Letterman to Colbert is going to be weird for many reasons, not least of which is the fact that Colbert’s Late Show doesn’t start until Tuesday, September 8th. But rather than rest on his laurels until the fall, Colbert and his writing team began releasing content for the show this week, including a short video, a podcast and an app.

In the video, Colbert reminisces about the beard that he donned shortly after he left The Colbert Report in December. Sadly, CBS isn’t letting Colbert keep the beard for the show, but he gets plenty of mileage out of it in this ridiculous video.
The Late Show also has a new Twitter account. “Official “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Twitter Account Launches to Enthusiastic Audience of Nobody Yet!” proclaims the first tweet. Later on Wednesday, the account shared a link to the first episode of The Late Show podcast, which features Colbert, executive producer Tom Purcell and head writer Opus Moreschi.
Finally, an iPhone app called Colbr launched on the App Store on Wednesday. It appears to be the official app for the show, so if you’re desperate to keep up with new videos, podcasts and more from the new Late Show, this app is for you.
We hope to hear plenty more from Colbert and his cohorts in the months leading up to the premiere of the show. Watch the first video from the team below:
