Think it’s difficult to find a Nintendo Wii now? Just wait until the holiday season. So says George Harrison, senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications for Nintendo of America, who said in an interview, “There is no guarantee that we are not going to have ‘out-of-stocks’ this holiday season. If you see one, buy it. Don’t assume that you can come back later and find one.” While they’ve tried to find a happy balance between high-demand and actual accessibility, they have yet to be able to meet the demand on their surprise hit system. With competing consoles dropping their prices, the demand could lessen, but it’s tough to make a real prediction considering no one saw the Wii becoming as big of a hit as it has.
