Reports already suggest that Apple is working on three new iPhone models for 2015, including the expected “S” sequels for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, but also a smaller 4-inch device. The purpose of the slightly smaller iPhone 6c would be to offer some of the same features available on the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models to buyers looking for smaller screens.

While Apple is far from confirming any details regarding its iPhone plans for this year, the first images showing what is supposedly the housing from the iPhone 6c have hit the web.

Future Supplier says it has obtained what looks to be a plastic iPhone 6c rear shell. While it might appear to be similar to the iPhone 5c, the purported iPhone 6c case has some distinct features that suggest it’s made for a new product – assuming the images are indeed authentic.

The case features an oval camera flash cutout that’s clearly different from the one on the iPhone 5c (which has a round flash), but also two rows of speaker holes on the bottom side, rather than just one, as found on the iPhone 5c.

Even though it’s said to feature a plastic case, the iPhone 6c will deliver some of the same features currently found on the iPhone 6, reports claim. The cheaper iPhone 6c will pack an A8 chip, NFC and Touch ID support, which means it should be able to offer users better iOS performance, more advanced health tracking features and Apple Pay support.

The leaked images showing this purported iPhone 6c housing follow below.
