Not only is Foxconn having problems keeping up with iPhone 6 production, but it looks like its Brazilian factories are giving the Chinese manufacturing giant even more headaches. Citing local reports, 9to5Mac says that Foxconn’s factory in Brazil is currently on strike, with production lines having been been halted since last Thursday.
FROM EARLIER: With 200,000 workers, Foxconn still can’t keep up with iPhone 6 demand
Some 3,500 employees at the Jundiai factory have stopped working, although it’s not clear whether or not the Brazilian factory is actually involved in iPhone 6 production – Foxconn Brazil does make iPhones and iPads, so it is possible that the factory is also working on Apple’s newest products.
An earlier report from the Wall Street Journal revealed that Foxconn has some 200,000 employees making around 540,000 combined iPhone 6 units per day in a single plant in China, but that’s still not enough to meet impressive launch demand.
Apple has already announced selling a record number of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units during the first preorder day, and various iPhone 6 models (especially 5.5-inch units) have already been sold out in multiple markets.
Apple will launch its new iPhone 6 models in stores on Friday, September 19th.
