The magnetic power connector that MacBook users are more than familiar with is a brilliant idea that probably saved many unwanted accidents so far. The charger snaps out of the charging port when someone trips over the cable, leaving the MacBook resting safely on its desk. That same feature might not necessarily be needed on a smartphone such as the iPhone 6, but one company came up with a compelling reason for anyone to want a smartphone magnetic charger.

Called Znaps, the project has exploded on Kickstarter, where it passed $730,000 in funding with 24 days left in the campaign, or over six times its initial goal.
The Znaps magnetic adapter costs just $9, and once inserted into your iPhone 6, or any other iOS or Android device, it’ll let you quickly charge your device. Without even looking, thanks to the magnets in the adapter and cable, you’d be able to charge your mobile device by just bringing it near the cable, which will snap right into place.
The Znaps connector is compatible with Lightning and microSD ports, and it’s reversible, meaning you won’t have to fiddle with it to get it into the right position.
Znaps will begin shipping at some point in November — see the following video to get more details about it.
