Foxconn is on a hiring spree, rumors are kicking into high gear, and now a new report states that Apple is ramping up chip orders. It can only mean one thing… Apple’s new iPhone 5S is on the way. Digitimes on Thursday cited unnamed supply chain sources in claiming that Apple has increased the pace of its integrated circuit (IC) orders as it prepares to launch new devices this fall. An earlier report stated that Apple’s iPhone 5S will enter mass production this month, and the handset is expected to feature a new processor, an upgraded camera and possibly an integrated fingerprint scanner. Digitimes notes that Apple’s chip orders for iPhone and iPad models in the second half could account for as much as 70% of Apple’s total chip orders in 2013.
