Following a report from late last month claiming Apple is working on a revision of its latest iPad tablet, a new report suggests that a revised third-generation iPad tablet will indeed launch ahead of the holidays this year. Citing unnamed sources in Apple’s supply chain, Digitimes on Thursday reports that Apple intends to issue an updated version of its iPad that includes a new battery to prevent overheating, as well as an enlarged camera lens. An earlier report, which came from Chinese-language Apple Daily, suggested the updated slate could launch as soon as later this summer featuring a new Sharp IGZO display and a thinner case. Apple is also reportedly planning to release a smaller version of its iPad tablet — the “iPad mini” — some time this fall that will include a 7.85-inch display and a slightly thinner build.
