Apple on Monday released iOS 8 beta 3, the third developer preview version of its upcoming iOS 8 software update due to be released to the public this fall alongside the launch of Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 handsets. While the software is intended only for use by developers as they update their apps and prepare new apps for iOS 8, many non-developers pay $99 to register developer accounts with Apple in order to gain early access. As has been the case with the past two beta versions of Apple’s iOS 8 software, however, there is also a method that allows people without developer accounts to install the new beta.

Before we go any further, we should note that BGR strongly advises against installing iOS 8 beta 3 on your device without first registering for a developer account. In fact, you shouldn’t install this beta software unless you are a developer. Following the guide contained in the video below may cause serious problems for your iPhone or iPad, and it may also void your warranty. Moreover, you may not be able to update to future versions of Apple’s iOS 8 beta.

For those brave (or crazy) souls who wish to proceed, BestTechInfo has discovered that iOS 8 beta 3 can in fact be installed on an Apple device even if the UDID is not registered in Apple’s developer database. The same blog found similar methods for installing earlier versions of Apple’s iOS 8 betas.

Those interested in proceeding can do so by watching the video embedded below. Once iOS 8 beta 3 is installed, here’s how to undo the damage and roll back to iOS 7.1 once you realize that iOS 8 is indeed a buggy developer preview and apps crash constantly.
