As anyone who has used Uber before knows, the service’s Android and iPhone apps give customers the opportunity to rate their driver at the end of each ride. What some people might also know but many others are unaware of, however, is that Uber employs a similar rating system for passengers as well.

When you get out of your Uber car at the end of your ride, your driver’s app also pops up a message asking him or her to rate you as a passenger. Those secret ratings can be extremely important, and now there’s a surprisingly simple way to find out your passenger rating.

Think twice about calling an Uber instead of hopping into a regular taxi after a night of drunken partying, because just one obnoxious ride could make it much more difficult to find a good Uber driver in the future.

Uber customers have a secret passenger rating that only Uber drivers can see in the mobile app. If you have a bad rating, drivers can see it each time you try to hail an Uber car, and the best Uber drivers tend to avoid people with bad ratings.

But as it turns out, it’s quite easy to find out what your Uber rating is.

As noted by Business Insider, all you have to do is send a request to Uber’s customer support team asking them to tell you what your Uber passenger rating is. Seriously, it’s that easy.

Use this page on Uber’s site to submit the request, or simply send an email to support@uber.com. Be sure to include the email address and phone number registered to your account. Uber’s customer support team will then respond and tell you your rating.
