Google is largely expected to launch two Nexus smartphones this year, something the company has never done in the past. According to many unconfirmed reports, LG and Huawei have been chosen to create the devices, which include a 5.2-inch smartphone and a larger 5.7-inch phablet.
A new report indicates that Huawei might indeed be the first Chinese company to partner with Google on new Nexus Android phones, and it tells us when we can expect the new device to be released.

Huawei’s Nexus phone is set to debut this fall, The Information has learned, and the move might be beneficial for both companies.
Google would use Huawei’s reach to bring its mobile app store to China, a market where the government has heavily restricted Google’s business in the past years, including Android. Huawei, meanwhile, will further expand its reach in markets outside of China.
By using Google’s help, Huawei could sell additional hardware, including smartwatches. Interestingly, Google and Huawei are apparently working on making the Huawei Watch function with the iPhone, which could be interesting considering it’s likely the best Android Wear gadget made to date.
Last year, Google only launched one new Nexus model, the Motorola Nexus 6 phablet. Though it was better than all the previous Nexus handsets, the Motorola phone was criticized for its expensive entry price and its enormous size. Not all Nexus buyers are necessarily looking for phablets, and it looks like Google plans to address that this year.
