Samsung (005930) Galaxy S III users on Sprint (S) can now either wait for the carrier to officially release Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or grab the leaked ROM and install it themselves right now. Leaked on XDA-developers, the Android 4.1 ROM is the custom skinned version of Jelly Bean, meaning that it comes equipped with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. While the ROM does have all of the features that Google (GOOG) touted at its Google I/O conference, including Google Now and the speed-enhancing Project Butter, several XDA-developer forum members have reported issues with both the gyroscope and apps crashing. Keep in mind that installing this leaked build of Android on any Galaxy S III will void its warranty and could result in your phone getting bricked. But if you’re willing to tinker, you can download several builds of Jelly Bean for Sprint’s Galaxy S III here.
