Just when you thought the best thing to come out of Finland was Nokia the women, our friends up north have recently ruled that DRM on DVD’s is no longer able to protect the content it was intended for. Two defendants who had “organized discussions” on how to break technical protection systems now find themselves with dropped charges after the, dare I say, progressive jurists found themselves looking at the bottom of a potentially long uphill climb. With all applicable info taken into account, they decided that prosecuting their own was not really in the best interest of the taxpayers. Anyone know the Finnish word for “hell yes”?
