In 2011, carriers and manufacturers were releasing smartphones at such short intervals that within weeks, your once new and high-end device would most likely already be outdated. Unfortunately, it looks like things won’t be slowing down in 2012. After a mere six months on the market, Verizon Wireless has issued an end-of-life discontinuation for the Motorola DROID 3, The Verge reports. The article also claims that Verizon has issued EOL’s for the Blackberry Curve 3G, Palm Pre 2, LG Revolution and all of their 4G LTE Mi-Fi Hotspots. The carrier will soon be left with not a single LTE hotspot and a hole in its smartphone line up, however, we expect to see an array of new devices at the Consumer Electronics Show which kicks off January 10th.
