AT&T announced on Thursday that it will begin to sell Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play 4G gaming smartphone on September 18th for $49.99 with a new two-year contract. We’ve already reviewed the Xperia Play for Verizon Wireless and AT&T’s version isn’t much different, save for its support for the carrier’s HSPA+ data network. The phone runs Androd 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) and is powered by a 1GHz processor and an Adreno 205 GPU. It is equipped with a 4-inch 854 x 480-pixel display, a 5-megapixel camera, a front-facing camera for video chats and a full slide-out game pad. The Xperia Play 4G will come preloaded with Dungeon Defends Second Wave, Asphalt 6, Star Battalion, Madden NFL, The Sims 3, Tower Bloxx and Crash Bandicoot. Xperia Play 4G owners can purchase additional games from the “Get Games” application, which is home to 150 different titles. Read on for the full press release from Sony Ericsson.
