It sounds like iPhone 6s Plus’s camera is even better than we’d hoped

Apple iPhone 6s Plus Camera Reviews

The iPhone 6s Plus has been getting rave early reviews and many critics have said that it delivers a lot more new features than what we typically expect from an “S” upgrade. The new iPhone’s camera has been earning praise as well, as Apple has upgraded its camera lenses from an 8-megapixel sensor to a 12-megapixel sensor. However, many early reviews say the new iPhone 6s Plus’s camera is about more than just improved megapixel count and it seems to have delivered noticeable improvements in other areas as well.

9to5Mac did a nice job of rounding up some reviews that have taken an extra-close look at the 6s Plus’s camera and the quality of pictures it takes. Time Magazine’s photographer Benjamin Lowy, for example, said that with the iPhone 6s Plus’s camera “you don’t get over-sharpened images — a hyper-real sense of color that other phones give you.” Time makes note of the “deep trench isolation” technology Apple is using in the device’s camera that “introduces lightproof dividers between pixels to prevent light leaks, which usually produce noise and inaccurate colors.”

Digital Spy, meanwhile, claims that the 6s Plus’s camera is almost on par with digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras used by professional photographers.

“The iPhone 6 Plus had a pretty stellar snapper, with its DSLR-style phase detect autofocus function and optical image stabilisation boost over the iPhone 6, and the 6S Plus gives your pocket more image ammo with added exposure control,” the publication writes.

And finally, The Straits Times notes that the iPhone 6s Plus’s use of optical image stabilization (OIS) technology gives it a definite edge in recording 4K video.
