Forget the iWatch, new Apple tech may watch your eyes

The idea that Apple doesn’t innovate anymore has become something of a meme among technology bloggers and industry watchers this year. While a number of analysts are expecting Apple’s “iWatch” to be its next big innovation, the company has plenty more exciting technology being developed behind closed doors. According to a newly published patent filing uncovered by Patently Apple, one such area of exploration consists of eye tracking technology that supports advanced gaze controls and overcomes one of the biggest obstacles facing companies that are toying with similar technologies. Apple’s tech could be used to add eye tracking controls to mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad, MacBook computers, gaming systems or even cars.
