BlackBerry eliminated 5,000 jobs in fiscal 2013, but it looks like the struggling smartphone vendor isn’t done. Following reports earlier this month suggesting recent departures would precede a new round of layoffs, Reuters is reporting that BlackBerry has laid off about 250 workers at its Waterloo, Ontario headquarters. “This is part of the next stage of our turnaround plan to increase efficiencies and scale our company,” a BlackBerry spokeswoman told reporters. BlackBerry shares recovered from an earlier dip on Thursday following the news.
