Of the two Project Pink phones that were leaked last September, the Turtle, with its oval shape and bubble keyboard, seems be the first Pink handset to receive FCC approval. Being a Microsoft/Danger-designed phone and the presumed Sidekick replacement, it is expected that Sharp, manufacturer of the Sidekick line, is also the manufacturer of the Project Pink phones. A quick search of the FCC’s Authorized Equipment database reveals that Sharp received approval for a CDMA handset whose FCC label rendering matches the leaked Project Pink Turtle images to a tee. With heavyweights like the WSJ and CNET chiming in on Project Pink and corroborating evidence like this FCC document being uncovered, the official unveiling of these upcoming teenybopper “youthful oriented” phones is more than likely right around the corner.
