Disney’s never-ending Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will very soon have its fifth and definitely not final installment on May 26th, which means that today is the perfect time to drop a fancy new trailer. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales isn’t just a mouthful as a title, but looks to be just as jam-packed from an action standpoint as well.

Dead Men Tell No Tales features the return of beloved swashbuckler Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, along with series veterans Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa and Orlando Bloom Captain Will Turner. The most notable addition to the cast this time around is Javier Bardem who plays the primary antagonist, Captain Armando Salazar. Salazar makes lots of appearances in this new trailer, and he’s undeniably creepy.

The plot centers on Salazar’s hunt of Jack Sparrow — he has apparently made many, many enemies over the years — and looks to be filled with lots of action set pieces, explosions, and one-liners. That’s pretty much the formula the series has relied on since its start way back in 2003, and several billions of dollars in box office revenue later it’s clearly working.

Speaking of the franchise’s age, its star isn’t getting any younger, either. This new film uses some fancy CG tweaks to roll the clock back on Johnny Depp’s Sparrow for what appears to be a handful of flashback scenes. We’ll leave it to you to decide whether or not the effect achieves its aim or falls short.
