Apple (AAPL) followed up its big iPhone 5 announcement Wednesday by unveiling Lightning, its new all-digital, eight-signal dock connector cable that is 80% smaller than all previous versions. Apple said during its presentation that it was creating several new accessories to help users link up Lightning with older accessories that still feature the larger docks. The company also said that Bose, JBL, B&W and Bang & Olufsen were already working on new sound systems that incorporated the smaller dock connector port. Apple is selling adapters for the new dock connector on its website for $29 each.
